Thursday Echoes with Fr. E

The death of someone we love changes our world. Grief can leave us feeling overwhelmed, lonely, angry, confused, or simply unsure of how to move forward. And sometimes, even when surrounded by people who care, grief can still feel incredibly lonely.

Walking Through Grief is a nine-week, faith-centered grief support group offering a safe and compassionate space to share, listen, learn, pray, and discover healthy ways of carrying loss. It will be facilitated by Fr. Emmanuel Ihemedu, PhD, LPC, Pastor and Licensed Professional Counselor.

OPEN TO ALL, this support group is for:

  • Anyone grieving the death of someone they love.
  • Parishioners and members of the wider community are welcome.
  • You do not need to be Catholic to participate.

Come as you are. You do not need to have the right words. You do not need to pretend that you are okay. There is a place here for your grief, your story, and your hope. You will never be required to share more than you are comfortable sharing. You are welcome to participate by speaking, listening, or simply being present.

Space is limited, so please register early to reserve your place.

Sessions will be held Thursdays, 6:30-8:00 pm, beginning October 8, at St. John Paul the Great Pastoral Center, 160 Main St. in Torrington.

Registration is required. Suggested donation: $27 for all 9 group sessions.

HOW TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE: Call 860-482-4433 or email: office@sjptgp.com. Please provide your full name, cell and/or home phone numbers, email, and preferred way to be contacted.

(Optional) How did you hear about Walking Through Grief? Is there anything you would like Fr. E to know before the group begins?

PLEASE NOTE: Walking Through Grief is a pastoral grief-support and educational program and is not group psychotherapy or a substitute for individual mental-health treatment.
