Repairs and Capital Improvements:
The St. Peter’s church building, the parish office as well as the rectory roof have been leaking in many places thereby causing damages to the physical buildings. We have had it rough this spring season. As I mentioned in the past, we had to put a bucket in my office space, as well as the guest room on the third floor of the rectory building to collect water dripping from the leaking roof.

After several meetings with the parish building committee (comprised of engineers, builders and architects) and the parish finance council, we engaged the services of Denis O’Sullivan to inspect the affected areas. Based on his findings, we asked him to put together bid proposals with the description of the work to be done for the above projects.

More than four contractors bid on the projects. After due consideration, the building committee and I unanimously voted to select All State Waterproofing Co. Inc. for the projects. The total cost of the needed repairs is $61,799 plus the engineering and supervision cost.

With the approval of Archbishop Blair, the contract has been signed. The contractors have started work, beginning with Saint Francis church building. They have about 68 days to complete the entire repairs.

Other repairs and capital improvements identified by the building committee that will follow according to the order of priority include the steps, a handicap bathroom with a revamped sacristy and an expanded modern confessional room at St. Peters church.

I am grateful to all of you for your support. Without your weekly, monthly, and annual sacrificial giving to your parish, none of these repairs would have been achieved.

My Weekly Prayer:

My prayer for you this week is 2 Cor. 12:9. It says:
My Grace is Sufficient for you….

As we step into a new week, I lift you up in prayer and claim God’s promise in 2 Cor.12:9 for you and for your families. As you face the trials of today and this week, Do Not Trust your Fear. Do Not Trust your Panic. They are your enemies. Their goal is to make you believe that God’s grace is Not enough for you. God has already planned and provided for everything you need to overcome today. And what you need for tomorrow and the rest of the week shall be given to you then as well. May God give you the grace to let go of fear, doubt and confusion! May He give you the grace to push forward in peace and confidence! May God give you the grace to trust in His grace one day at a time, one experience at a time, amen!
