- The faithful on earth,
- The souls in purgatory,
- And the saints in heaven join together in praise of God.
Joy to the World! The Lord is come.

These words ring with the promise of hope, peace, and salvation—a promise fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah and Lord. The Christmas hymn “Joy to the World,” inspired by Isaac Watts’ interpretation of Psalm 98, captures the true essence of this season: “The Lord is come; let earth receive her King!”
