2026 Capital Campaign
Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future as One
St. John Paul the Great Parish has launched a capital campaign with a $1.5 million goal that will enable it to revitalize its aging structures and leave a lasting legacy that honors our history, unites our diverse community, and forges a vibrant future. Our parish comprises two churches: St. Francis of Assisi Church, bult in 1877, and St. Peter Church, built in 1928. For generations, these sacred spaces have sustained the Catholic faith in our region. This campaign will enable upgrades and improvements to both structures, preserving them for future generations of Catholics. We are off to a great start and will soon begin distributing personalized packets via gatherings at homes, at the rectory and at the parish beginning in August. Please make every effort when you are invited to come and hear the message.
Parish Campaign Updates
On Sunday, July 26, after the 11:30 am Mass, a gathering was held at St. Peter Hall for the Spanish community to receive their ‘Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future as One’ campaign packets. If you missed it and would like to obtain a packet, please call the Pastoral Center 860-482-4433.
“Let Joe Do It!” is an old adage we know too well. Imagine what our world would be like if Jesus had said those very words to the Father! In life, there are times when we are presented with the opportunity to make a difference in our lives and the lives of others, yet sometimes we hesitate to meet the challenge and hope someone else will. The Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future as One campaign is one of these moments where we can change lives. The truth is that like Jesus, to change lives means it will take some sacrifice on our part.
In the coming weeks, several campaign gatherings will be held, and we hope that you will accept your invitation to attend one. Our sincere hope is that each of you will prayerfully discern your level of support and make your best sacrifice to our campaign. The impact of this campaign will be felt in future generations, profoundly and deeply. Let’s show that we are committed to our faith and not wait for Joe to do it; let’s work together to share Christ’s love.
